1615-43 West Howard Street, Chicago Adaptive mixed use—an ideal solution! The Howard Theater is an affordable multi-family development with 40 residential units and 15,000 square feet of commercial space. Numerous developers attempted to restore this landmark building, but only Cornerstone was able to secure financing.  The adaptive reuse of the building converted the theater lobby to a community room and the meeting rooms above into studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments. The building not only created much needed affordable housing for the community, it served as a catalyst for reinvestment along the high-traffic commercial strip.
